Railroad Voices Early Work
I was 18 years old when I hired on as a brakeman on the Milwaukee Road. I carried my camera with me to work and began photographing this world from the inside. Fifty years later, these photographs are now on view in Lina Bertucci: Railroad Voices—The Milwaukee Road, 1974–1977 at the Grohmann Museum in Milwaukee until December 20, 2026.
